We’re excited to offer something new - MiSight® 1 Day contact lenses, the first and only FDA-approved soft contact lens proven to slow the progression of myopia (nearsightedness) in children.
If your child is between the ages of 5 and 18…
If they already wear contacts for sports or school…
If you - or anyone in your family - wear glasses or contacts to see far away…
Then this may be a great time to talk to us about myopia control!
We’d love to help your child grow up with the best vision possible - not just 20/20 today, but healthier eyes for the future. There’s so much more to eye health than just how clearly you can see!
Here’s something most people don’t realize:
Nearsightedness happens when the eye grows too long from front to back. When we’re born, our eyes are short and still developing. That growth typically starts around ages 7–9 and can continue into the early-to-mid twenties. But when the eye grows too long, it causes blurry distance vision - and that structural change is permanent.
The higher the prescription, the greater the risk of developing serious eye problems later in life, like retinal detachment, myopic maculopathy, glaucoma, and early onset cataracts. For years, our only option was to prescribe stronger glasses or contacts and watch as prescriptions climbed year after year.
Now, we can do more.
MiSight lenses don’t just correct vision - they help slow down the progression of myopia by changing how light focuses in the eye. This helps reduce the rate of eye elongation over time.
If you'd like to learn more, give us a call to schedule a routine eye exam and ask about MiSight. You can also check out the links and videos below to explore more about this exciting breakthrough in myopia management.
